Two person job for the first 2 hours. Then a break for the post crete to set and then four people for half an hour before two people for an hour. Finally after the second set of post crete has set its a four person job for an hour.

We started by digging 6 holes based on the spacing on the plan. As we were digging into stony ground we hired a digger. Due the size of the beam we went 600mm deep. After digging the holes we put in the first post in. It was critical that we got this square with the other holes and also the depth was correct. After a lot of adjusting we fixed it in place with stakes and clamps before post creting it in place. We then measure the distance listed on the plan and repeated the process with the second and third posts on one side of the pergola. Once the postcrete had set we put on the braces and rails along the side pegging them in place. The rails are long and so require one person at either end and two holding the ladders. We then put in the brace going across. We then repeated the first step on the other side. Once we had the first post in place we were able to put on a cross rail to ensure the distance was correct before we post creted it in place. As the cross rails are held in place using a brace it meant that the angle had to be correct for it to slot into place. Once we had the first post in place we repeated the process with the final two posts. Finally we attached the rails in place and initially fixed the cross rails in place along the top. This was definitely a kit that required plenty of measuring to ensure the distances were correct, because unlike the other kits the weight means it is not easy to adjust once up and has to be fixed one piece at a time.
