This a two person job for the first hour and a four person job for the second hour.

We started by putting together the base. Each piece is labelled with a number and this corresponds to a piece on the plan. This involved slotting the legs into the cross pieces and securing with pegs. Due to the size of the pieces it is helpful to have two people on the job so that the legs can be held securely whilst the pegs are hammered in. We then stood up each side roughly the correct distance apart and then we put the top members on, adjusting the base to ensure that the distance. This requires one person to hold each side stable and two others to put on the cross pieces. This then needs to be pegged. This created a stable base from which we could put on the apex. We had a forklift with a cage to reach the highest pieces, but two people on ladders (with two more holding the ladders stable)can put on the front and back apexs and one at either end can lift in place the ridge beam and the rafters are light enough for one person to lift.

Finally the pegs can be trimmed back. It is not advised to cut them flush as the green oak shrinks and the pegs to do not and so over a period of time the pegs will be sticking out unevenly as the shrinking isnt even.
