Please note the sizes displayed are approx. Due to timber coming from all over the world starting thicknesses vary up to 1/4 Inch depending on the origin. We use the umbrella guides of 1inch,1.5, 2, 3 & 4inch, but please be aware that all planks are planed one face to highlight the grain and to allow us to see faults which can result in under thickness. This can result in planks being under the thickness depending on the starting thickness. For example, Oak 2 inch is normally 2.1/8th before we plane which allows 2 inch thickness after we plane and 2x2 spindles or blanks. Native Ash is often 17/8th to 2 inch after drying and before we plane. This can plane to 1.75 inch and result in 1.75 inch x2 inch spindles. Whilst we always try and maintain the thickest board possible, sometimes it can be under-size. If you require a finished size of 2x2 we recommend purchasing a larger blank such as 3x3 & machining this back yourself. If you require sawn spindles or blanks please state in the comments section of the order and we can cut to order in our sawmill. Please note this service can take up to 10 working days.

    The wood came in a damaged box that was too weak for the wood. The wood was damp. Upon using two pieces have split right through, ruining what I was making.     I was very disappointed with this pack!!! On counting up the prices on the blanks it came to £23 something. there was an extra piece in the pack which I can only describe as something resembling a piece of COAL!
    Now if this was the extra 10% I am shocked as I fail to see what I can actually use it for. By the way the reason I have not contacted you before is because I knew I would get asked to review this package eventually. Suffice to say I will not be ordering any more blanks

    a bit disappointing. The blanks were mostly English woods, with only 3 exotic woods. 2 of the English woods (elm and maple) were only
    one and a quarter inches thick . None of the blanks were thicker than 2 inches. Not good value.

    Well I was a little sceptical as some reviewers was a little negative. But wow. 9 blanks from 8” to around four. Mainly 2” thick but two 3”” thick. The selection was amazing only two common hardwood. The reminder were all exotic hardwood. Purple Heart, buntings, black walnut, padouk , ovangkol, Iroko. So a really great selection box. Exactly what I had hoped for.

    I have had two packs to date and for the most part have been satisfied with the packs, my only comment might be the fact that there are very small items in the packs which for the most part are not all that useful, perhaps they are put in to make up the £5 bonus, I would prefer to have parger pieces but less to get rid of the small items. However all that said most of the items are great and the variety makes for good turning so will not drop a star for the small bits, so I give the packs five stars.Will certainly buy in the future.

I am pleased with the variety and value of my blanks, and if I hadn’t injured my shoulder in a completely unrelated-to-woodturning incident, I would be ordering my next lot right now.
