The SC3 chuck is lighter and more compact than the SC4, making it ideal for use on any lathe, particularly small to medium sized machines and is still compatible with the full jaw range. The compact design reduces load on the lathe spindles and bearings and gives good access to smaller work pieces. The large jaw slides offer unrivalled strength and holding power that cannot be found in other chucks of this size.

The improved and enlarged jaw slides give unsurpassed holding power and load bearing ability. They are made from high tensile steel, reinforced with nickel and copper and heat-treated to ensure superior strength.

Woodworm Screw

Bought this to avoid changing jaws frequently. Currently running with 37mm jaws. The smaller size makes work on finials much easier.

This is great chuck! in fact I’ve bought 2. I bought one for myself when I was in Yandles and then I ordered another online for my dad who has just taken up turning. It has a real solid feel to it and is well engineered, it’s easy to use and really holds the wood well. Its well packaged in a nice plastic container to store it away when not in use. would recommend this product

Very good quality chuck. Would recommend purchase of long nose jaws and 35mm standard jaws as well. These additions make it a truly universal chuck. Scroll gear needs cleaning reasonably regularly but this is just normal maintenance.
