Transform your outdoor seating area with our premium Oak Bench Slats with a Roundover profile. Made from high-quality, sustainable, European oak and machined on-site in our sawmill, these single bench slats can be used to replace broken bench slats, or you can create a beautiful new bench.
Oak is a durable and sturdy material, making it the perfect choice for bench slats. Unlike other woods, Oak is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, making it an ideal option for outdoor use. Not only that, but Oak has a beautiful grain pattern that adds character and warmth to any space.
A roundover profile, also known as round edged or eased edges, is a woodworking technique used to create smooth, curved corners/edges on a piece of wood. When applied to bench slats, a roundover profile can provide both comfort and style. The rounded edges eliminate sharp corners, making it more comfortable to sit on the bench for extended periods of time. Additionally, the rounded edges can add a visually pleasing touch to the bench, giving it a softer and more elegant appearance.

All deliveries must be accepted in person or there could be a re delivery fee.

 

 

It is up to you and really depends what look you are after. They will go grey if you leave them and that is a natural barrier and is generally my choice with oak. Otherwise you can vanish/oil them and this will provide extra protection especially from moisture which is the worst thing to cause decay, but it will be an ongoing job with most oils. I have found with tung/danish oil that if left outside over winter as it will start to weather black and then grey in a matter of months and to avoid this it requires constant re coating.

 

 

 

We have recently starting stocking Restol which is able to protect the wood and maintain the oak for several years without a re coat and is proving very popular.

    As expected, the order for these bench slates took about a month to be fulfilled. Then the courier company seemed to lose them for a couple of days. But when they finally arrived they were first class. Oak is a beautiful wood and all I had to do was to trim to length and drill the bolt holes. The roundover milling saved a lot of work. I contacted Yandles asking about options for best preserving finish and received some very helpful advice. In the end I applied some Osmo anti-UV finish and the bench now looks really good. Thank you Yandles – very pleased overall.
